Mark Shepherd, veteran of the live music circuit, from the UK to New York and Texas, is to release new material in the new year. This new EP will display the experienced musician and storyteller in both acoustic and electric contexts – allowing its listeners to appreciate the emotional intimacy of his tracks but also the sheer power that a band can add to a track.
Based in Hertfordshire, Mark Shepherd’s work draws comparisons with the energy of Tom Petty and the songwriting ability of Mark Knopfler. Kicking off with lead single The Grand Scheme of Things, the track looks at the culmination of someone’s life and questions what it means to have made a difference, asking if making a positive impact on a small number of people isn’t just as worthwhile as grander gestures.
