Following her release of single Another Year Gone By Emily Jean Flack gives us her latest single release Tread Softly – an emotional track that resonates the pureness and sentiments of artists like Birdy and Bon Iver.
Born in Canada but with a passion for traditional Irish music, Emily presents a unique relationship of folk and electro whereby she combines the pure instrumentals and vocals of folk with a more electronic melody – a marriage that makes for a wholesome outcome.
A very real and raw ballad, Tread Softly is a heartfelt song of unrequited love that is powerfully emotive. Additional to the lyrics, the emotion of the song gradually builds with the combination of piano and string arrangements and the crisp, delicate quality to Emily’s vocals – culminating in a deliciously blissful essence to the song.
Yet to come from Emily this year is her forthcoming EP Throwing Shapes. Produced in Belfast by Pete Wallace and mixed by three-time Grammy Award winning producer/mixer David Bottrill, Throwing Shapes features guest performances by true stars in the firmament of Irish folk music, whistle and flute player Brian Finnegan from the band Flook and guitarist Marty Barry. A release this year that is not to be missed!
