MIKEY. is a multidisciplinary artist & performer currently based in Berlin, with a strong presence in the underground LGBTIQ+ scene and born in rural Australia. Their voice fuses the primal power of shamanic ritual with visionary trans/trance pop, with songs vulnerably expressing raw earthly sensibilities, the infinite interpretations of love and our evolutionary journeys of immaterial & hidden dimensions. Throughout their work, there is an intense longing to be able to connect beyond identity, beyond the individual, the body and beyond fear – underpinned by strong collaborations, with a focus on collective community empowerment. They had this to say on new ‘Tranceformer’ EP:

‘Tranceformer’ is an ep that moves through some lessons that I’ve learned about changing things that seemed impossible. I ran up against a wall in terms of how much I could do with just swapping the way I look and the words I use to differentiate myself. So I looked back at everything I’d written in the past, and I rekindled a couple of songs from almost 10 years ago, “Hell and Back” and “Invincible”, which were moments when I had a full awareness of myself, but didn’t know what to do about it.

Currently MIKEY. has established a strong network of Berlin-based collaborators that regularly share their varying skills to assist in MIKEY’s artistic vision; producing videos, original fashion pieces and set designs. In addition they have worked in the past with Rihanna, Basement Jaxx and Depeche Mode on various projects, as well as making multiple appearances in international music videos and fashion magazines. In live performance, MIKEY. has supported Hercules & Love Affair, Anna Calvi, Noah Slee & Dillon. In late 2018 debuted a well received headline show for the opening of Trauma Bar & Kino, for their debut EP release ‘Paths’, that fused together classic pop iconography, drag culture, voguing and eclectic collaborative performances from selected queer Berlin artists.
