Hits you may have missed: top tracks you need in your playlist

Written by: Charlotte Bredael

With so much amazing music available at the click of a button, it can be easy to miss some great tracks, so we’ve compiled a list of some of our favourite hits that you may have missed the first time around.

First we have Newcastle based musician Martha Hill with her catchy, alt-pop track ‘Spiders’. With thought-provoking lyrics and compelling melodies, this track is criminally underrated and comes with an equally addictive acoustic version. Other great tracks of hers include blindfold, reborn and be still.

One of our favourite indie groups are London based quartet The Big Moon and although you may have heard some of their anthems such as ‘Cupid’ and ‘Your Light’, we especially love ‘It’s Easy Then’. With gorgeously smooth vocals, this one is a must add for your chill out playlist.

Essex based Nothing But Thieves have quickly risen to the top of the rock world with over 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify. One of our favourite, less raved about tracks is ‘Broken Machine’ due to its catchy hooks and punchy riffs, making it a must listen for fans of alt-rock.

LA based punk band The Regrettes have made a statement by dominating festivals and gaining acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone, Billboard and LA Times. Our favourite track is the punchy ‘California Friends’ due to it’s toe tapping beats that are bound to get you up and dancing.

Finally we have British artist, multi-instrumentalist and producer Liz Lawrence. Having toured with her friends Bombay Bicycle Club she has a world of experience behind her and has now began to create her own music, on her own terms. We love her track ‘None Of My Friends’ due to it’s relatable lyrics and catchy beats but her whole 2019 album ‘Pity Party’ is a must listen for fans of laid back indie anthems.
