#SAVETHENIGHTLIFE call to action: How you can join the campaign

Written by: Charlotte Bredael

Nightlife is a huge part of our culture and we’re sure that just like us, you can’t wait to get out in your local scene. It’s now more important than every that we make a stand to ensure that our local clubs and bars are still their waiting for us when life returns to a new normal, your local nightlife venues need you!

There are several ways you can do your bit to support the campaign, the first is by uploading a picture of your last experience within Nightlife or an original picture of you and friends enjoying a night out via the link below. This will serve as a visual petition for the Government to recognise the immediate support that the sector requires to survive this crisis and runs parallel to a political lobbying campaign which is being presented to the Chancellor and No.10. Make sure to share with your friends and colleagues to show your passion for nightlife and to request their support!

Another way you can directly do your bit is by emailing your local MP. This may sound a little daunting, but it is now easier than ever and 1000s of letters have already been sent to MPs across the country and many have already responded in support of the campaign, proving your words and persistence really make an impact.

All you have to do is enter your postcode and a suggested draft email will come up to send to your MP. The only reason that you’re asked to enter your address is so that the MP can verify that you are in his/her constituency as parliamentary rules mean MPs can only become involved with correspondence from their own constituents. You can send the draft as is, but please feel free to customise it as this makes the message even more impactful. For example if you are a business owner perhaps explain how many jobs you support and the part you play in the local economy. If you are an employee perhaps explain how important your job is to you and your family. If you are a customer, perhaps explain what the business means to you and your area.

Finally, tell your friends, share what nightlife means to you and feel satisfied that you have done your bit to ensure our beloved venues are able to reopen as soon as possible.
